This garment took on a life of its own. 

I discovered scraps of fabric with a beautifully delicate sheen to it. I played arounds with turning them inside out and keeping the shine facing outward depending on the angle of the dress. I followed the contour lines of triangle tulle textiles I rescued and sewed around their perimeter for the skirt which gives a winged effect. 

This cheeky piece would bode well for a boudoir or warm night on the town. Pair it with flirty tights or go bare legged for an alluring entrance. We had fun pairing it with a bolero jacket and leather bomber — both worked well!

The upcycling process

Step 1

Textiles are sourced and sorted from pre-consumer textile waste, in partnership with FABSCRAP, with a focus on material quality and aesthetics.

Step 2

We save and combine each rescued material them using our patchwork-joining technique with compositions inspired by nature.

Step 3

Finishing details were hand-sewn. The outcome features a patchwork piece in contrasting hues. The textile composition celebrates the beauty of asymmetry.
