I make art that explores themes of nature and identity; exhibiting moments of convergence and divergence in my life’s journey to find the in-between. I portray the abstract markings of small deaths and transformation; paths forward emerge from where I choose to wander and what I allow to flow out in visual reflection.

Fashion illustration ignited my creative journey when I was seven years old. My love for creating fashion designs in my sketchbook began taking shape into physical garments. And my paintings of fashion illustrations began to spill onto canvas, where I'd allow myself to take up space more freely. I began creating abstract art. It was liberating to express what came up for me in the moment without the constraints of a physical form.

But by 2016 I began to recognize the impact of creating from an environmental perspective. The US is the leading exporter of textile waste generating 15.8 megaton every year [Source]. And US fashion waste is flooding countries in Africa and South America with clothing, creating devastating consequences for the environment and communities [Source].

I wanted to use my 13 years of experience as a designer in tech, love for fashion and passion for sustainability and apply it toward solutions—leading me to pursue a Master's in Sustainable Fashion Technology at IED, Istituto Europeo di Design, in Barcelona in 2022.

While I no longer support creating fashion garments through traditional production processes for scale, I create beautiful pieces in a sustainable manner with respect to the earth and its natural resources through slow production and upcycling. I create with fabric nature has generated and the market has overlooked, with a focus on rescued pre-consumer textiles which are discarded before making it into stores or being sold. 

As an innovative problem-solver I transform waste into wonder, and individual expression into collective consciousness. Being in style doesn’t have to be wasteful. I invite you to change the narrative with me.
