What makes each piece unique?
What makes each piece unique?
Original paintings are created by Mariaclara Golfo.
Collections include original oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings alongside digital line art pieces that guide viewers through a visual narrative flow of finding identity across blurred lines—a theme that permeates all her work. She investigates the intersection of memory, material culture, and environmental stewardship.
Currently, she creates at Greenpoint Gallery Studio, threading the needle between art on cotton canvas and patchwork collage from rescued textiles.
Are the paintings also one-of-a-kind?
Yes, each painting is an original artwork created in our Brooklyn studio.
We offer a small selection of prints in a separate area of our website and we’re careful to label them as such.
How are paintings shipped?
Paintings are carefully packaged with protective materials and shipped via USPS with insurance to ensure safe arrival.
Can I see more details about a painting's size and medium?
Each painting listing includes detailed information about dimensions and medium. Contact us for additional photos or details.
Upcycled Fashion
Ethos
What makes each piece one-of-a-kind?
Each garment is made up of textile art; a unique work of wearable art. Garments are crafted from rescued pre-consumer waste textiles. No two pieces are identical – each one tells its own story through the fabric samples we source, save and combine in our unique patchwork-joining technique with compositions inspired by nature.
Due to the nature of upcycling, we can never recreate the exact same combinations when creating new garments from rescued textiles.
Working with pre-consumer textile waste, we rescue samples and offshoots that come from the fashion industry that can include rescued swatches the size of your hand, or an extra yard of fabric that wasn’t needed for a designer’s dress. Since we do not source brand new rolls of fabric, it’s highly unlikely to discover and rescue the same exact textile makeup twice!
What does "evergreen genderless" mean?
Our pieces are timeless and versatile, designed to transcend seasonal trends and gender boundaries.
Our sustainable approach prioritizes classic designs that everyone can love through the seasons and years, wearing in different ways according to your style.
Sizing & Fit
What sizes do you offer?
Currently, we offer one size per garment that generally fits small to medium (approximately US sizes XS-M). Each product page includes specific measurements to help you determine fit. We’re working on ways to be inclusive of additional sizes as we scale our team.
How do I know if a piece will fit me?
We really encourage you to do your measurements. Here’s how we do it and how it corresponds to the garments.
Once you have your own, reference the detailed measurements for each garment on our product pages, including chest/bust, waist, hips, length, and sleeve, where applicable.
Multiple sizes can wear one piece and it will look different on each body and even be styled differently on the same person. We encourage you to style our pieces how you want!
Still have questions? Reach out for a 5-minute FaceTime to see the garment and styling options.
Can I return items if they don't fit?
All sales are final due to the handmade one-of-a-kind nature of our pieces. We have a very small design team and are not set up for mass production practices. We encourage you to carefully review the measurements provided before purchasing.
Feel free to email us with specific fit questions before placing your order.
Personality over perfection
At Studio Visit, we embrace what others might perceive as imperfections. That might mean a puckered seamline or minor sample-sale style quirks. The individual nature of rescued textile samples may render subtle blemishes, which we believe add to their character and charm.
Materials & Sustainability
What types of materials do you use?
We partner with FABSCRAP, who has relationships with over 800 textile-intensive businesses to rescue pre-consumer waste textiles from the fashion industry. This includes deadstock from fashion houses, mills, and manufacturers. The textiles we source have beauty, high-quality, and character. They would otherwise be ‘downcycled’ (eg. used as furniture stuffing) or end up in landfills.
Each piece celebrates the beauty of these "waste" materials.
How do you source your rescued textiles?
We carefully inspect and select only high-quality pre-consumer waste fabrics. We have a preference for rescuing natural fiber materials when possible, which includes cotton, linen, silk and wool. However, we rescue synthetic fabric as well when it meets our standards.
These textiles are pre-use, which means they were never on a shop floor, purchased, or worn by consumers.
Our Brooklyn-based production ensures each piece meets our standards for durability and wearability before it reaches you.

Care & Maintenance
